The annual 5 a side football tournament was held on Sunday 14th July. A record number 15 teams entered and there were three age groups. The day saw a perfect blue sky, only interrupted by the sounds of 89 goals being scored and enthusiastic parents cheering from the touchline.
Each age group was keenly contested with both the younger age groups producing a final, and the 13 -16 being won by topping their league.
There was food, drink and sweets provided by the Executive committee and their volunteer! helpers. The main stay of the day was Executive chairman Martin Young who kept the scores updated and ensured that the correct teams were on the correct pitch at the correct time.
Thanks go to the referees for the day: Nick, Tim, Dave & Nick, who managed to keep the players under control and ensure the competition was played in the correct spirit.
