Cubs had been working toward their Silver Award Badge, the highest award a Cub can receive.
The work involved completing a number of challenges, one being compulsory, the Outdoor Challenge; this included abseiling, wall climbing, shelter building, compass work, backwoods cooking and at least 2 nights sleeping under canvas.
Andrew, Danny & Edward reached the required standard and were presented with their awards on January 27th 2003 by Akela the Cub Scout Leader, as far as we know they are the first cubs in the Wychwood District to receive this award and we look forward to hearing how they get on at Scouts working for the Gold Award.
Three more cubs from received their silver awards on Monday 7th July 2003, well done Josh, Stewart and Charlie.
